Description: A place mat designed by Takashi Murakami and given as a gift at the 2007 gala opening of the artist’s new exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles
Guests attending the opening dinner—who paid $1,000 to $10,000 for a seat at the table—were allowed to take home the round fiberglass mats featuring blooming happy-face flowers at their seat. Some of the guests had theirs signed and drawn on by the artist. This is one of the rare pieces from the gala. Artwork is in excellent condition. Additional images are available upon request. Certificate of Authenticity included.
