Description: Luciano Achille Mauzan (1881 – 1952) was a prominent and prolific Italian poster artist whose advertisements magnetized customers with bright colors, charm and engaging humor during the Golden Era of Posters. A commercial artist, graphic designer, illustrator, engraver, painter and sculptor, Mauzan thrived during the Art Deco movement, creating over 2,000 posters promoting everything from bon-bons to champagne to Italian patriotism. Between 1920 and 1940, he was strongly influenced by the work of avant-garde Cubists. Mauzan also created over 1,000 postcards known for their strong, appealing graphics.
