Born in the Andes Mountains of Colombia in 1946, Orlando Agudelo-Botero has come to be revered in the contemporary art world. The artist combines a modern, free-form aesthetic with a personal humanist philosophy. His figures, while rendered in a contemporary, slightly abstracted style, project a timeless spirituality, which reflects the religious and pre-Columbian influences of the artist's Latin American heritage.
