LUIS CABALLERO
Luis Caballero, also known as Luis Caballero Holguín, was a Colombian artist renowned for his depictions of masculine figures using oil, ink, and watercolor. Born in 1943 in Bogotá, Colombia, he pursued his education at the University of Los Andes in Colombia and the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. Influenced by artists such as Juan Antonio Roda, Marta Traba, Willem de Kooning, and Francis Bacon, Caballero spent much of his life in Paris, France. He was awarded the First Prize at the First Ibero-American Biennal of Medellín. His works are part of the collection at the Tate Museum. Caballero passed away in 1995 in Bogotá, Colombia.
