BRIGITTE COUDRAIN
Brigitte Coudrain was born in 1934. She is Johnny Friedlaender's student (later on his companion) with whom she learns how to etch. She is a very talented painter of watercolors. She is also involved in the major etching exhibits as soon as 1958 (Ljubljana, Grenchen, Biella, Salon de Mai), events that bring together the young contemporary etchers' best artworks worldwide. With her graphical art, she gets an award in the Paris exhibit in 1959. Little by little, Brigitte Coudrain's etchings allow her to assert herself. She gains unity and consistency which lets her focus and settle her mind. Whether a flower, a fruit, a face, or a tree, the main pattern gets divided into several elements which reveal the fullness of their own structures. Brigitte Coudrain creates series or sequels quickly organized in portfolios and books.
