Russia born artist Alexander Kanchik is known for painting, sculpting, and stage design. Born in 1959 in Kishnev, Russia, Kanchik completed his military duties before enrolling at the SAMOKISH Crimean Academy of Arts. After completing his studies Kanchik was invited to attend the Academy of Theater, Stage Design, and Cinematography in what is now St. Petersburg. After graduating with honors, Kanchik was offered to select a prestigious position with the Bolshoi Theater which he turned down and instead he moved to Tel Aviv where he began his current art career. He now focuses on art and stage design, and is known for colorful landscape paintings and Jewish related scenes.
