ROBERT PEAK
Bob Peak, also known as Robert M. Peak, was an American illustrator best known for his work on the modern film poster. Born in 1927 in Denver, Colorado, he later moved to Wichita, Kansas. He was educated at the University of Wichita in Wichita, Kansas, and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. Peak was recognized with numerous accolades, including Artist of the Year by the Graphic Artists Guild New York chapter, Awards of Excellence, gold medals from the Society of Illustrators, induction into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame, and the Key Art Award. His peers in the field included Bill Sienkiewicz, Drew Struzan, Frank Frazetta, Frank McCarthy, Howard Terpning, Jack Davis, John Alvin, Mitchell Hooks, Richard Amsel, Robert McGinnis, Saul Bass, Steven Chorney, The Brothers Hildebrandt, and Tom Jung. His works have been exhibited at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Bob Peak passed away in 1992.
